Yıldıray Yılmaz is a Senior Sustainability Consultant at Metsims, where he actively contributes to and leads numerous national and international projects in the field of sustainability, with a primary focus on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). In addition to his consultancy role, he is involved in the coordination of LCA and EPD activities within Metsims, providing technical guidance to project teams throughout all project phases.
Specializing mainly in the construction materials and industrial sectors, Yıldıray Yılmaz has conducted life cycle assessments for hundreds of products to date and has played a key role in the preparation, verification, and publication of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). He has worked with clients across a wide range of sectors—particularly steel, aluminium, cement, metals, and ceramics—delivering comprehensive services including EPD development, green product design, low-carbon product strategies, and decarbonization roadmaps.
Within the scope of CBAM, he has developed expertise in conducting baseline assessments, performing product- and facility-level emissions calculations, establishing reporting frameworks, and designing EU-compliant CBAM roadmaps. In this context, he supports companies in managing regulatory risks and developing sustainability-driven transformation strategies that enhance long-term competitiveness.
Yıldıray Yılmaz graduated from Özyeğin University with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering as the top-ranked student of his department, and completed his Master’s degree in Construction Management at Boğaziçi University. He is fluent in English and has an intermediate level of proficiency in Spanish.
