Yıldıray Yılmaz is a Senior Sustainability Consultant at Metsims, where he leads and coordinates Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) activities and provides technical oversight across national and international sustainability projects. His core areas of expertise include LCA, EPD development, product carbon footprinting, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), and low-carbon product strategies.
With a particular focus on construction materials and energy-intensive industries, Yıldıray has carried out life cycle assessments for hundreds of products and has been actively involved in their EPD preparation, verification, and publication processes. His project experience spans a broad range of sectors, including cement, iron and steel, aluminium, ceramics, insulation materials, cables, and other industrial products. He works closely with manufacturers on environmental performance assessment, green product development, decarbonisation strategies, and the integration of life cycle thinking into product and corporate decision-making.
In the field of CBAM, Yıldıray supports companies in assessing their current compliance status, calculating embedded and facility-level emissions, establishing data collection and reporting systems, and developing implementation roadmaps aligned with European Union requirements. His work focuses on translating regulatory requirements into practical technical and operational actions for industrial organisations.
He holds a master’s degree in Construction Management from Boğaziçi University, where his graduate research focused on the life cycle assessment of a residential building in Türkiye.
