Gül Yağmur Karademir is a graduate of Environmental Engineering from Marmara University. Early in her undergraduate studies, she recognized the value of gaining professional experience and began working as a sales consultant at Massimo Dutti Nişantaşı under Inditex. In this role, she also served as a sustainability ambassador, promoting awareness among employees and customers, emphasizing the importance of recycling, and supporting eco-friendly practices within the store.

During her internship at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Waste Management Department, she gained in-depth knowledge of solid waste management, renewable energy, and wastewater treatment. She participated in field visits to various facilities, including a waste-to-energy plant, a landfill site, and a leachate treatment plant, strengthening her practical skills as an environmental engineer.

She later completed an internship at Intertek, contributing to projects on environmental and energy management systems, technical certification, auditing, and supply chain management. This experience provided valuable insights into the implementation of sustainable environmental policies and energy efficiency practices.

For her senior thesis, she worked on an innovative technology for nitrogen removal from wastewater. The project was accepted by Tübitak and she played an active role in its development by setting up a reactor from scratch in the laboratory and conducting experimental studies.

Currently, she works at Metsims as a Sustainability Project Associate, participating in corporate carbon footprint assessments and service development processes, contributing to organizations’ sustainability goals while further advancing her expertise in the field.
