Necati Görkem Aydoğan​

Necati Görkem Aydoğan is a Junior Sustainability Consultant at Metsims. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (ITU). During his student years, he actively participated in academic, social, and professional projects.

At Metsims, he has supported and continues to actively support various projects in Turkey and internationally, primarily in Corporate Carbon Footprint, but also in Life Cycle Assessment, Environmental Product Declaration, and Sustainable Finance. He is progressing his career as a comprehensive Sustainability Consultant.

In academia, he conducted a study at ITU Ayazağa Campus aimed at efficient resource use, analyzing the creation of alternative water and fertilizer sources from rainwater, gray water, and yellow water. Under the ITU umbrella, he took part in projects that brought together sustainability sector representatives with target audiences from various industries for many years, thus enhancing his knowledge in this field and creating opportunities to meet industry professionals while still in school. Additionally, he volunteered for numerous social responsibility projects for many years.

Aydoğan took his first step into professional life during his student years by working part-time for two years as a Planning and Allocation Assistant Specialist at a corporate fashion retail company. During this period, he developed an interest in financial and economic matters, achieving successful work in preparing balance sheets, budget planning, and evaluating Financial and Fiscal Metrics in LFL (Like-for-Like). Moreover, the project he carried out to protect biodiversity in the basin for the marina of a Maritime Services company located on the Mediterranean coast, where he completed his mandatory internship, was included in the company’s Technical Services Department’s next term budget.

Before entering the workforce, he developed an Excel tool for a confectionery company’s t-shirt products to calculate the product carbon footprint according to different confectionery options, along with a friend. This work was declared by the company to its global customer, contributing to its export.

He is proficient in English.
