Necati Görkem Aydoğan serves as a Sustainability Consultant within the Climate Strategy and Impact Management unit at Metsims.  He specializes in Scope 3 emissions, one of the most critical and complex components of corporate carbon accounting. Aydoğan provides professional support in conducting value chain gap analyses, establishing data collection and management systems, and performing advanced analyses of large and complex datasets. With a methodology tailored to sector-specific sensitivities, he has successfully led carbon management processes for numerous companies across various industries and scales.  With strong expertise in regulatory frameworks and international standards, he provides strategic advisory services on: 
  • Defining consolidation approaches, 
  • Setting Science-Based Targets (SBTi), 
  • Aligning carbon accounting outputs with internal reporting, financial reporting, and integrated reporting processes. 
In the field of carbon neutrality, he supports companies in structuring carbon neutrality claims, prioritizing emission reductions, managing residual emissions, and developing appropriate carbon credit strategies. He ensures that neutrality claims are transparent, verifiable, and aligned with international requirements.  In addition to climate-related work, Aydoğan actively contributes to water management projects, including water footprint assessments and the development of water efficiency strategies. He analyzes companies’ water consumption intensity, identifies improvement areas, and provides technical support for alignment with blue and green water efficiency approaches. He adopts an integrated impact management perspective that addresses climate and water-related risks together. Furthermore, he works on integrating biodiversity strategies into companies’ operational structures.  In the field of sustainable finance, he contributes to the preparation of Second Party Opinions and the verification of impact reports for Green and Sustainable Bond/Sukuk issuances facilitated by financial institutions. He supports the transparent, measurable, and traceable reporting of environmental impacts associated with financial instruments.  Within the scope of digital sustainability transformation, Aydoğan serves as Product Owner for the development and continuous improvement of the Carbon Module of the CageSuite Sustainability Platform. He integrates international standard requirements, user expectations, and data verification principles into the software architecture.  Necati Görkem Aydoğan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and is proficient in English.
