Sustainability Reportings (GRI)

Sustainability Reportings (GRI)

Sustainability reporting is a communication document created to inform internal and external stakeholders about an organisation's economic, environmental, social and governance performance towards sustainable development goals.

Companies may report for many reasons, such as to better understand the risks and opportunities they will face, to increase corporate reputation and brand loyalty, to evaluate and benchmark sustainability performance against laws, norms, regulations, performance standards and voluntary initiatives, to compare performance within the organisation and with other organisations, to comply with national legislation and stock exchange listing requirements, to increase corporate prestige, to determine the expectations of companies and stakeholders in the field of sustainable development.

Transparent Reporting in Compliance with Standards

All this reporting process is carried out by Metsims Sustainability Consulting and reporting is carried out in accordance with GRI Standards. The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is an independent international organisation that has been pioneering sustainability reporting since 1997. The GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI Standards) are a reporting framework for organisations to disclose both their positive and negative impacts on the environment, society and the economy. The GRI Standards are designed to be universally applicable to all organisations around the world, large and small, of all types and sectors. In 2021, it is planned to report on sector-specific standards and sectoral realities.

Sustainability Reporting is the practice of disclosing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance and impacts of an organization to its stakeholders. The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is a widely recognized framework for sustainability reporting that provides guidelines and principles for organizations to effectively communicate their sustainability efforts and outcomes. GRI offers a standardized approach to reporting on various sustainability indicators, allowing for comparability and transparency across different organizations and sectors.

The GRI framework outlines several key components that organizations should address in their sustainability reports, including:

  1. Stakeholder Engagement: Describing the process of engaging with stakeholders and incorporating their perspectives into sustainability strategies and decision-making.
  2. Materiality Assessment: Identifying and prioritizing the most significant sustainability issues that affect the organization and its stakeholders.
  3. Governance and Ethics: Disclosing information about the organization’s governance structure, policies, and practices related to ethics, integrity, and compliance.
  4. Economic Performance: Reporting on financial performance, economic contributions, value creation, and resource allocation.
  5. Environmental Performance: Providing data and insights on environmental impacts, resource use, emissions, waste management, and biodiversity conservation.
  6. Social Performance: Addressing social issues such as labor practices, human rights, diversity and inclusion, community engagement, and health and safety.
  7. Supply Chain Management: Assessing and managing sustainability risks and opportunities throughout the supply chain, including supplier relations and responsible sourcing practices.
