On 20 October, the Turkish Automotive Sector Sustainability Action Plan Workshop hosted by the Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OIB) in Istanbul was completed. More than 100 representatives from 39 different organisations participated in the workshop.
Within the scope of the action plans of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the draft of the Turkish Automotive Sector Sustainability Action Plan, prepared by OİB under the consultancy of Metsims, was submitted to stakeholders for their opinions. The workshop, which took place with the participation of Uludağ Exporters’ Associations (UİB), Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), Association of Vehicle Supply Industrialists (TAYSAD), Automotive Industry Association (OSD), Ministry of Trade, main industry and supply industry companies, lasted for one day. The event started with the opening speeches of OIB Chairman Baran Çelik, OSD Chairman Cengiz Eroldu and TAYSAD Chairman Albert Saydam and continued with information and motivational presentations. In the informative presentations made by Kemal Yazıcı, member of the OIB audit board, and Elif Berrak Taşyürek, Trade Expert at the Ministry of Trade, General Directorate of International Agreements and EU, Climate Change and the European Green Deal were mentioned. Motivational presentations made by Ford Otosan and Tofaş representatives helped the event to be productive for the participants.
The workshop, where groups of 10 people were selected for each action, was held with representatives from umbrella organisations, main industry and supply industry. The participants, who submitted their opinions and comments in the form of a draft report, provided intensive support for the finalisation of the action plan.
The action plan, which will be finalised within the framework of stakeholder comments, will be put into effect in order for the sector to chart a rising course, especially in terms of sustainability.
